Job summary

Dematic Pty Ltd is recruiting a Trades Assistant to support maintenance of client equipment on a rotating 12-hour night shift in Sydney. The role requires mechanical knowledge, equipment servicing, and adherence to safety and site procedures. Training on OH&S and forklift operations will be provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Sound mechanical knowledge and experience maintaining systems and equipment.
• Experience with mechanical and pneumatic systems, computerized maintenance systems, and automation (conveyors) is an advantage.

• Service client equipment per project/service agreements and ensure high-quality work.
• Identify and feedback opportunities for improvement in manufacture or performance of systems and products.
• Comply with safety standards and procedures and work safely.
• Ensure adherence to customer/Dematic site work policies and procedures.

We are currently recruiting for a Trades Assistant (TA), working a 7-day Monday to Sunday shift roster pattern working 12-hour shifts, it will average to 84 hours per fortnight equivalent. The roster operating on site is based on 4 On – 5 Off, 5 On – 4 Off and 5 On – 5 Off and be a permanent night shift 6:00pm to 6:00am.

As part of the role you will be required to:

• Service our client’s equipment in accordance with project and service agreements and to ensure that all work is completed to a high standard of quality.
• Identify and feedback opportunities for improvement in the manufacture or performance of systems and products.
• Comply with all safety standards and procedures and conduct your work in a safe manner.
• Ensure adherence to all customer/Dematic site work, policies and procedures.

Tasks and Qualifications

• Sound mechanical knowledge and experience maintaining systems and equipment (highly regarded)
• Experience with mechanical and pneumatic systems, computerized maintenance systems, and automation (conveyors) is an advantage
• An alert individual who can logically solve issues that arise
• Basic/Medium computer literacy skills
• Strong initiative and highly motivated
• Good verbal, written and inter-personal communication skills
• Physically fit to undertake the role (Manual Handling and safety training will be provided)
• Understanding of OH&S requirements
• Forklift Ticket/EWP highly desirable
• Mature minded individual with an ability to develop and maintain effective on-going relationships with customers and teams.
