Dematic is seeking a Site Safety Officer for a 12 to 18 month fixed-term on-site role in Tarneit, Melbourne. You will lead WHSE initiatives on a major automated warehousing project for a global FMCG client, reporting to the Project Safety Manager.
Based in Tarneit, you will coordinate with Project Managers, site Supervisors, engineers and subcontractors to embed best-practice safety standards across multi-contractor environments and ensure everyone returns home safely each day.

Due to an exciting pipeline of major automation projects, Dematic is seeking an experienced Site Safety Officer to join us on a 12 to 18 month fixed-term contract with the transition into a permanent role. In this position you will be supporting a significant automated warehousing and distribution centre project for a global FMCG client. Based full‑time on site in Tarneit, Melbourne, you'll play a pivotal role in driving safety excellence across a complex, multi‑contractor environment while supporting the delivery of leading‑edge automation technology. This is an opportunity to be highly visible on site, influence safety culture, partner with key stakeholders, and ensure every person returns home safely each day. Reporting to the Project Safety Manager, you will lead the day‑to‑day implementation of WHSE initiatives, working closely with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, Engineers, subcontractors and principal contractors to ensure best‑practice safety standards are embedded throughout the project lifecycle.
You are a confident, proactive safety professional who leads through influence and enjoys building strong relationships. A practical, solutions‑focused approach to safety The confidence to challenge unsafe behaviours and drive accountability when needed The ability to thrive in a fast‑paced project environment with multiple competing priorities Experience within automation, industrial equipment, manufacturing, commissioning or similar environments Knowledge of Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), isolation processes and electrical safety practices A resilient, adaptable mindset and a genuine passion for creating safer workplace
