Job summary

ASM Chilltech is seeking a motivated Trades Assistant to join our HVAC and Refrigeration team in Moorebank. You will work with Service Technicians providing hands-on support across maintenance, service and installation on commercial and industrial systems.

Qualifications

• Current White Card (Construction Induction Card) required.
• Interest in HVAC, Refrigeration or Building Services.
• Current Driver's Licence.
• Physically capable of manual handling and labouring duties.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Reliable, motivated and willing to learn.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to obtain additional licences and tickets.

Responsibilities

• Assist service technicians with maintenance, service and installation activities.
• Support material handling, equipment set-up and site activities.
• Maintain clean, safe and organised work areas.
• Assist with basic non-licensed tasks under qualified supervision.
• Load, unload and transport tools, materials and equipment as required.
• Complete basic job documentation and records.
• Identify and report hazards, incidents and near misses.
• Follow site safety procedures and company policies.
• Assist with waste management and environmental requirements.

Working alongside experienced Service Technicians, you will provide hands‑on support across maintenance, service, and installation works on commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems.

What You Will Be Doing

Assist Service Technicians and other trades with maintenance, service and installation activities

Support material handling, equipment set‑up, access equipment and general site activities

Maintain clean, safe and organised work areas

Assist with basic non‑licensed tasks under the direction of qualified tradespeople

Load, unload and transport tools, materials and equipment as required

Complete basic job documentation, checklists and records

Identify and report hazards, incidents and near misses

Follow site safety procedures, SWMS, JSAs and company policies

Assist with waste management, housekeeping and environmental requirements

Build positive working relationships with team members and clients

Your Education, Experience and Skills

Current White Card (Construction Induction Card)

Interest in HVAC, Refrigeration, Mechanical Services or Building Services

Current Driver's Licence

Physically capable of performing manual handling and labouring duties

Strong commitment to workplace health and safety

Reliable, motivated and willing to learn

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
