Job summary

ASM Chilltech is actively seeking a dedicated HVAC Technician to join our Melbourne-based service team. The role focuses on delivering planned and reactive maintenance to a range of client facilities, ensuring safe, efficient operation of heating, cooling and refrigeration systems.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in air conditioning and refrigeration.
• HVAC technician experience in similar role.
• Ability to diagnose, repair and maintain HVAC equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service.
• Valid driver's licence and White Card.
• Knowledge of Building Management Systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned and reactive HVAC maintenance across client facilities.
• Install, test, service and maintain heating, cooling and refrigeration systems.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs on HVAC equipment.
• Inspect chilled water systems and refrigeration equipment.
• Support efficient operation of ventilation equipment and controls.
• Inspect and maintain Building Management Systems where required.
• Complete service reports and compliance documentation on time.
• Ensure all work complies with WHS and ASM Chilltech quality standards.
• Build positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.

What You'll Be Doing

• Delivering planned and reactive HVAC maintenance across client facilities
• Installing, testing, servicing and maintaining heating, cooling and refrigeration systems
• Conducting fault finding, repairs and upgrades across HVAC equipment and infrastructure
• Inspecting and maintaining chilled water systems and refrigeration equipment
• Supporting the efficient operation of ventilation equipment and associated controls
• Inspecting and maintaining Building Management Systems (BMS) where required
• Diagnosing electrical and mechanical defects and system malfunctions
• Completing service reports, compliance documentation and work orders within required timeframes
• Ensuring all works comply with WHS, environmental and ASM Chilltech quality standards
• Building and maintaining positive working relationships with clients and stakeholders

Your Education, Experience & Skills

• Trade qualification in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
• Previous experience in a similar HVAC Technician role
• Ability to diagnose, repair and maintain HVAC equipment and systems
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Well-developed communication and customer service skills
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and service requirements
• Current Driver's Licence
• White Card (Construction Induction Card)
• Working knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) is advantageous

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Experience working within commercial, industrial, retail, healthcare or government environments
• Experience with chilled water systems, refrigeration equipment and mechanical services maintenance
• Additional training or certifications including Working at Heights, First Aid, High Voltage Switching or related industry qualifications
• Experience using mobile job management systems and digital service reporting tools
