Job summary

BGIS - Critical Transport Infrastructure in Mascot, NSW is seeking a Trades Assistant - Electrical to join a major transport hub project. You will work with an Electrical Shift Technician on nights, assisting with building maintenance, preventative tasks and reactive repairs across a large, 24/7 site.

This permanent onsite position requires a trade qualification or equivalent experience, the ability to use CMMS/work orders, and a strong safety and teamwork mindset.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in carpentry, building or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in general building maintenance or a similar environment.
• Knowledge of preventative and corrective maintenance practices.
• Ability to use work order or maintenance management systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work night shifts in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safe work practices.

Night Shift Roster: Sunday - Thursday 10:00pm to 6:30am, 1 Monthly RDO

Salary: $55.90 per hour

About the Role

BGIS is seeking a Trades Assistant - Electrical to join a newly established contract supporting one of Australia's busiest transport hubs.

Working alongside an Electrical Shift Technician, you'll assist with general building maintenance, preventative works and reactive repairs across a large and dynamic site that operates around the clock. This hands‑on role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, working as part of a close‑knit team, and helping maintain critical infrastructure.

Night Shift: Sunday to Thursday, 10:00pm - 6:30am.

Key Responsibilities

Education, Experience & Skills

Essential

• Experience in aviation, transport or large public facilities.
• Exposure to electrical maintenance environments.
• ASIC clearance or the ability to obtain one.
