Job summary

BGIS is hiring an Electrical Technician in Alstonville, NSW. You will perform planned and reactive electrical maintenance across client facilities, including emergency systems, switchboards and infrastructure, ensuring safety and BGIS quality standards.

A supportive team and modern tools are provided to enable career growth. You'll contribute to continuous improvement, mentor apprentices, and coordinate subcontractors as needed while upholding WHS and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology
• Qualified Supervisors Licence (or equivalent electrical licence)
• White Card (Construction Induction)
• Current Driver's Licence
• 1+ years post-trade electrical maintenance experience
• Strong fault-finding and electrical maintenance skills
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Full working rights in Australia (essential)

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned and reactive electrical maintenance across client facilities
• Conduct fault finding, repairs, and upgrades across electrical systems
• Service and maintain emergency lighting, smoke alarms, switchboards, and general electrical infrastructure
• Complete work orders within required timeframes using BGIS systems
• Support and mentor apprentices and junior technicians
• Oversee and coordinate subcontractors when required
• Ensure all works comply with WHS, compliance, environmental, and quality standards
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders
• Contribute to continuous improvement and safe work practices across service delivery

Electrical Technician

The Role

BGIS is seeking skilled Electrical Technicians to join our Self Perform team, delivering high-quality electrical maintenance, repairs, and minor works across client facilities.

In this role, you'll provide end-to-end electrical maintenance support as part of a collaborative building services team. You'll be responsible for planned and reactive electrical maintenance across systems including emergency lighting, smoke alarms, switchboards, and general electrical infrastructure, ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to BGIS quality standards.
