Job summary

Sulzer is seeking a Trade Assistant to join our Brendale Service Centre in Australia. The role involves assisting with assembling, testing and painting electrical rotating machinery, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

This position supports the manufacturing process under supervision and offers training opportunities. You will help in the workshop, perform cleaning and basic maintenance tasks, and operate a forklift where required.

Qualifications

• Good communication and time management are essential.
• Forklift licence is required.
• Basic mechanical and technical skills are expected.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assemble LV, MV & HV electrical rotating machinery.
• General workshop assistance as directed by the Supervisor or Works Manager.
• Clean workshop and offices as required.
• Paint motors, equipment and floors.
• Follow safety and quality standards.
• Assist in troubleshooting and basic maintenance.
• Help clean and paint mechanical assemblies including shafts, gears, seals and bearings.

About the role Job Summary The Production Worker / Technician is responsible for assembling, testing, and inspecting products to ensure they meet quality and safety standards. This role supports the manufacturing process by identifying defects, maintaining equipment, and following production protocols. This job profile is intended for support staff that follows established procedures and works under close supervision. Smaller/easier decisions are made autonomously. We are looking for a Trade Assistant to join our Brendale Service Centre team in Australia. Please note, no visa or work permit support can be provided for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble LV, MV & HV electrical rotating machinery
• General assistance in the workshop as designated by the Supervisor or Works Manager.
• Cleaning of Workshop, and Offices where required
• Painting of motors, equipment and floors
• Follow safety and quality standards
• Assist in troubleshooting and basic maintenance
• Help clean and paint various mechanical or electromechanical assemblies including: shafts, gears, seals, impellers, mechanical switches, brakes, clutches, clutch rotors, fans, end shields, bearing fit.
