Job summary

St Vincent's Health Australia is seeking a Trade Cook for Berengarra Aged Care in Melbourne to join the kitchen team. You will oversee and assist in preparing and presenting resident meals, including special diets and mid-meal items, ensuring high-quality food and service.

Under Support Services Management, you will monitor meal quality, handle daily orders and stock, maintain Food Safety documentation, and contribute to cost control while keeping the area clean per safety standards.

Qualifications

• Food Safety Certificate HLTFSE001 is required.
• Food Safety Supervisors Certificate HLTFSE005 & HLTFSE007 preferred.
• Certificate 111 or 1V Commercial Cookery or equivalent trade certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and assist in preparation and presentation of resident meals, including short order and special diets.
• Monitor meal quality at all stages of preparation and presentation.
• Manage daily ordering, stock control and rotation to minimise waste and support cost control.
