Job summary

St Vincent's Care Services Yennora is seeking a compassionate Cook to join our dedicated team at Rosary Village, a 141-bed aged care facility near Sydney. You will help create a welcoming, professional care experience and support residents with nutritious meals. Permanent part-time role.

Trade qualification preferred; Food Handler Certificate; experience with volume cooking in healthcare; flexible to meet dietary requirements. Mon, Tue and Wed 9.30am–5.30pm.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Commercial cooking (preferred).
• Current Food Handler Certificate.
• Experience with volume cooking in hotels, healthcare or similar environments.
• Knowledge of aged care nutrition and special diets is advantageous.
• Understanding of food safety hygiene standards.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to follow care plans and respect resident rights.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare meals for residents within care settings.
• Assist with chill production and dining service planning.
• Prepare meals according to care plans and dietary requirements.
• Ensure compliance with food safety hygiene standards.
• Maintain a high level of customer service.
• Assist with dietary modifications for special diets.

Mon, Tue and Wed - 9.30am to 5.30pm

Things that work for us:

• Trade qualification in Commercial cooking (preferred), current Food Handler Certificate

• Proven experience with volume cooking such as hotels, healthcare and/or similar environments
• Flexibility toproducespecial dietary requirements– knowledge of aged care related nutrition and special diets for healthadvantageous.

• Excellent knowledge related to all facets of Food Services which includes but not limited to chill production and planning dining service
• Understanding of and compliance with food safety hygiene standards
• High level of customer service skills

• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills

• Ability to follow directives as per care plan

• Understanding of Aged Care and resident rights and responsibilities

• Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check(within 6 months)

• NDIS Worker Screening Check will be a requirement of this role.
