Job summary

Workfast is seeking reliable Maintenance Workers (Trades Assistants) for immediate-start projects in Carole Park, Queensland. The role supports site operations with a focus on mechanical tasks and safety compliance.

Hours are generally 38–50 per week, with a 5:00 am – 1:00 pm shift and overtime available. A White Card is required and there is potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• No formal trade qualification required; TA-aligned role.

• Full working rights in Australia and a valid driver’s licence are required.
• Flexible to work overtime and weekends when needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist maintenance and trades teams to keep site operations running.
• Perform routine mechanical, plant, and facility maintenance tasks.
• Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Operate elevated work platforms (EWP) and work at heights if ticketed.
• Adhere to site safety plans, JSEAs and environmental protocols.
• Keep work areas and tools clean and organized.

Our maintenance teams are highly relied upon to keep site operations running smoothly. This role does not require a formal trade qualification; rather, we are looking for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and an excellent work ethic. All site-specific training will be provided, and this role offers a direct pathway to a permanent position for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the broader maintenance and trades teams to ensure uninterrupted site operations.
• Perform routine mechanical, plant, and facility maintenance tasks.
• Utilise a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Operate elevated work platforms (EWP) and perform tasks at heights (where ticketed).
• Maintain strict adherence to site safety plans, JSEAs, and environmental protocols.
• Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and well-maintained.

Key Requirements

• White Card (Construction Induction).
• Strong mechanical aptitude (no formal trade qualification required; this is a TA-aligned role).
• High-Risk Work Tickets: EWP (Elevated Work Platform) and Working at Heights are highly desirable.
• A highly flexible approach, with the willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Current Driver's Licence and reliable transport.
