Woodlands Enterprises is seeking a hands-on Trade Assistant to join the Mechanical Workshop team. You’ll support mechanics, panel beaters and spray painters in servicing, maintenance and vehicle preparation across trucks, machinery and equipment.
This role suits someone with a practical mechanical mindset, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. No formal trade qualification is required, and the position offers permanent, full-time employment in a family-owned Australian business.
Love working with vehicles and machinery? Turn your practical skills into a rewarding career!
Perhaps you've worked around vehicles, machinery, panel beating or spray painting, or you're simply someone with a natural mechanical aptitude who wants to build their skills in a busy workshop.
At Woodlands Enterprises, no two days are quite the same!
We're looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hands-on Trade Assistant to join our Mechanical Workshop team, supporting our mechanics, panel beaters and spray painters in maintaining and repairing our extensive range of vehicles, machinery and equipment.
This isn't a role where you'll be doing the same thing every day. One day you could be assisting with heavy vehicle maintenance, the next preparing vehicles for panel repairs or spray painting, or helping our tradespeople tackle a new mechanical challenge.
You don't need to be a qualified tradesperson – we're looking for someone with a good mechanical aptitude, a positive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn.
If you enjoy practical work, take pride in what you do and want to be part of a team where your contribution matters, we'd love to hear from you!
Why You'll Enjoy Working With Us
At Woodlands, you'll enjoy a varied and practical role, the opportunity to work alongside experienced tradespeople and the security of working for a long-established Australian business.
Here's what makes this opportunity stand out:
Variety that keeps things interesting - work across trucks, trailers, machinery, equipment and vehicle bodywork rather than doing the same tasks every day.
Develop your practical skills - gain valuable hands-on experience assisting qualified mechanics, panel beaters and spray painters.
No trade qualification required - your mechanical aptitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn are what matter most.
Permanent, full-time employment - enjoy the stability and security of a long-established, family-owned business.
Sunshine Coast location - enjoy working locally without the need for FIFO or extended periods away from home.
About the Role
Reporting to the Mechanical Workshop Manager/Supervisor, you'll assist our mechanical and panel beating teams with servicing, maintenance, repairs, vehicle preparation and general workshop activities.
This is a varied, physically active role suited to someone who enjoys working with tools, vehicles and machinery and is happy to get stuck into whatever needs doing.
Your key responsibilities will include:
You’ll have the opportunity to develop experience across both mechanical and vehicle bodywork activities, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and wants to expand your practical skills.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work, has a practical approach to solving problems and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves.
You may already have experience in a workshop, automotive, agricultural or industrial environment, or you might be looking for an opportunity to put your mechanical interests and abilities to work.
To be successful, you'll bring:
The following would be highly regarded:
Just as importantly, you'll be someone who turns up ready to work, takes initiative, helps their teammates and enjoys the satisfaction of completing a job properly.
Ready to Get Hands-On With Something Different?
If you're mechanically minded, enjoy working with vehicles and machinery and want a job that offers genuine variety, this could be the opportunity for you.
