About the Role

Reporting to the Mechanical Workshop Manager, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a diverse range of heavy vehicles, mechanical plant and operational equipment.

This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic who is confident working across different equipment types and comfortable diagnosing faults beyond routine servicing.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Undertaking scheduled servicing, inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs across our heavy vehicle fleet and mechanical equipment.
• Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and associated vehicle system faults.
• Maintaining and repairing a broad range of heavy vehicles, transport equipment, machinery and industrial plant.
• Responding to equipment breakdowns and completing repairs efficiently to minimise operational downtime.
• Applying strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills to identify underlying mechanical problems and deliver reliable solutions.
• Identifying potential equipment failures and recommending preventative maintenance improvements.

About You

We're looking for someone who is more than just a capable mechanic.

You’ll be an experienced tradesperson who enjoys mechanical challenges, has a genuine interest in heavy equipment and is confident working independently across a variety of vehicles and machinery.

To be successful, you’ll bring:

• A recognised Heavy Vehicle Mechanical trade qualification.
• A current MC (Multi Combination) Heavy Vehicle Driver Licence.
• Proven experience maintaining and repairing a diverse range of heavy vehicles, fleet equipment and machinery.
• Strong diesel mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• The ability to confidently undertake both routine servicing and complex mechanical repairs.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work in a busy operational environment.
• Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and mobile applications.

Just as importantly, you’ll demonstrate:

• A positive, practical and solutions-focused attitude.
• Pride in your work and strong attention to detail.
• The confidence to work independently and collaboratively with other tradespeople.
• A willingness to tackle unfamiliar equipment and varied mechanical challenges.
• Good communication skills and a professional approach.
• Experience across agricultural machinery, industrial plant, transport fleets or other heavy equipment environments will be highly regarded.
