Chess Engineering seeks a reliable Trade Assistant to support onsite boilershop operations in Leppington, NSW. You will assist tradespeople with a range of hands-on tasks and help maintain a safe work environment.

Candidates should be safety-focused, physically capable, and able to follow directions while gaining exposure to engineering and maintenance activities. A Forklift Licence is essential or willingness to obtain one; overhead crane experience is valued.

Formación

• Previous experience as a Trades Assistant or labourer is highly regarded.
• A current Forklift Licence is essential, or willingness to obtain one (training will be provided).
• Overhead crane experience is highly regarded.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to follow procedures.
• Reliable, hands on, willing to learn and be able to work as part of a team.

Responsabilidades

• Assist tradesmen on site at Leppington with general workshop tasks.
• Wrap and prepare materials for transport.
• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely.
• Keep workshop areas clean, tidy and organised.
• Move and handle materials and equipment safely.
• Assist with basic maintenance and trades duties when needed.
• Follow all WHS procedures.
• Support machinists, fitters and other tradespeople as required.

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Trade Assistant to support our onsite operations in our Boilershop area. This is a hands-on role assisting qualified tradespeople with a variety of tasks onsite.

The role suits someone safety-focused, physically capable, and willing to take direction while gaining exposure to a range of engineering and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting tradesmen on site at Leppington with general workshop tasks
• Wrapping and preparing materials for transport
• Operating forklifts and overhead cranes
• Keeping the workshop and work areas clean, tidy and organised
• Moving and handling materials and equipment safely
• Assisting with basic maintenance and trades related duties when required
• Following all workplace health and safety procedures
• Supporting machinists, fitters and other tradespeople as required

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience as a Trades Assistant or labourer is highly regarded
• Previous experience in metal fabrication is an advantage
• A current Forklift Licence is essential, or willingness to obtain one (training will be provided)
• Overhead crane experience is highly regarded
• Strong safety awareness and ability to follow procedures
• Reliable, hands on, willing to learn and be able to work as part of a team
• Willingness to work across various client sites
