Job summary

Astrum Recruitment in Sydney is seeking a hands-on Trade Assistant to support Service Technicians in a busy workshop. You will help disassemble and assemble customer products, keep the workspace clean, and assist with safety and quality across each job.

This role is ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude who wants practical, on‑the‑job training and to grow in a supportive team. Forklift and overhead crane experience are preferred, with a strong commitment to WHS.

About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on Trade Assistant to support our Service Technicians in our busy Service Centre. You'll play a key role in keeping our workshop running smoothly - assisting with the disassembly and assembly of customer products, maintaining a clean and organised workspace, and helping ensure every job is completed safely and to a high standard. This is a great opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude who's looking to build hands-on experience and grow their skills in a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Disassembling and assembling customer products under the guidance and supervision of qualified technicians
• General cleaning of parts and workshop area
• Painting and final assembly of products
• Packing and preparing products for shipment
• Assisting Service Technicians with other repairs and servicing of products
• Operating plant and equipment, e.g. overhead crane and forklift
• Ensuring all company and WHS procedures are followed at all times

What We're Looking For

• General mechanical experience required
• Forklift licence preferred
• Previous experience operating an overhead crane preferred
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• A reliable, hands-on team player with a good work ethic
