Job summary

Solarig in Australia is seeking a Trade Assistant to support vegetation, grounds maintenance and on-site tasks at the Darlington Point solar farm. This casual role with an option for full-time invites a safety-focused, reliable candidate who thrives in a fast-growing renewables environment.

You’ll perform equipment cleaning, asset inspections, and on-site reporting while adhering to WHS policies. On-call duties and a Monday–Friday schedule are included.

Responsibilities

• Perform vegetation control and other grounds maintenance activities
• Cleaning and inspection of the asset and infrastructures
• To carry out the Module Cleaning
• Assist other trades on site as required
• Work requests completion and reporting
• Comply and adhere to all work, health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
• Report any hazards, near misses or incidents
• Responsible for the scheduled maintenanceParticipate On-call roster

About the Role:

As an Trade Assistant with Solarig, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our solar farm. This full-time role offers the chance to work in a collaborative, safety-focused environment, with excellent career growth potential in the rapidly expanding solar industry.

• Location: Darlington Point Region
• Contract duration: Casual contract with option of full time contract for the right person
• Schedule: Monday to Friday (38 hours per week)
• Must participate on On-call roster
• Tools provided

Key Responsibilities

What We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking a reliable, safety-focused Trade Assistant who can take initiative and work both independently and as part of a team. You should have:

• Skid Steer ticket (High desirable)
• Chemical Handling Certificate (High desirable)
• High Voltage Switching Qualification (High desirable)
• Work safely in the construction industry Card (Required)
• Low Voltage Rescue Training
• CPR Training
• A valid Driver’s License

Additionally, you must be:

• Committed to safety and compliance with all WH&S regulations
• Proactive with a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills
• A team player with strong communication skills and a can-do attitude
