Job summary

MBG Solar in Deniliquin, NSW, is hiring Trade Assistants for casual, outdoor work in regional locations. Typical 11‑hour days Mon–Fri and 5 hours Sat, with additional hours possible. No solar farm experience needed; attitude and reliability are key.

You'll assist with cable pulling, harness installations, and general solar farm construction, while working as part of a team and being comfortable with heavy cables and outdoor conditions. Close-knit training and ongoing opportunities available.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pulling cables through trenches and install above-ground cable harnesses.

$40 hourly | $720.10 weekly LAHA | 60+ hours available

MBG Solar is looking for reliable Trade Assistants who want to work hard, earn good money and build experience in large-scale renewable energy.

People from construction, electrical, civil, mechanical, agricultural, warehousing and other hands‑on backgrounds are encouraged to apply. You do not need solar farm experience or specialised knowledge. We're more interested in your attitude, reliability and willingness to learn.

You'll typically work 11-hour days from Monday to Friday and 5 hours on Saturday. Additional hours may also be available when project conditions allow.

Working arrangements will be discussed individually based on your availability and the requirements of each project. This is physical, outdoor work in regional and remote locations.

The work

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with pulling 400mm² DC cables through trenches
• Installing above-ground cable harnesses
• Handling, positioning and securing cables
• Preparing and moving materials
• Assisting electricians and other trades
• General solar farm construction work

This is hands‑on, physically demanding work. You'll need to be comfortable working outdoors, handling heavy cables and contributing as part of a site team.
