Job summary

Yellow Iron Fleet in Australia seeks a reliable Trade Assistant to support the maintenance team in a mining environment. You will assist rebuilding and maintenance of fixed plant equipment, operate basic tools and assist with general labour tasks to keep site operations running smoothly.

Key requirements include a current Driver's Licence and a High Risk Forklift Licence; Telehandler is desirable. You must be physically fit, safety-minded, and able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced mining site.

Qualifications

• Experience in mining, construction, or heavy industrial environments preferred.
• Current Driver's Licence is essential.
• High Risk Forklift Licence is essential.
• Telehandler ticket is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate tools, machinery, and mobile equipment used in maintenance and repair tasks.
• Carry out manual handling, cleaning and housekeeping to maintain a safe worksite.
• Conduct routine inspections, report faults or hazards, and adhere to PPE and risk assessment protocols.
• Undertake additional duties to support broader maintenance and operations.

About the Role:

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Trade Assistant to join our maintenance team in a dynamic mining environment. This hands-on role plays a vital part in supporting the rebuilding and maintenance of fixed plant equipment, operating machinery, and performing general labouring duties to ensure the smooth and safe functioning of site operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate tools, machinery, and mobile equipment, and perform basic maintenance in accordance with site procedures.
• Carry out manual handling, cleaning, and housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
• Conduct routine inspections, report faults or hazards, and strictly adhere to site safety protocols including PPE usage and risk assessment.
• Undertake additional duties as directed to support broader maintenance and operational needs.

About you:

Experience

Previous experience in mining, construction, or heavy industrial environments is highly regarded.

Licences

• Current Driver's Licence is essential.
