Job summary

Yellow Iron Fleet is seeking a Mining Manager to lead and direct a major mining operation in Australia. You will champion safety, drive daily and long-term planning, and coordinate with maintenance, engineering and site leadership to meet production targets and standards.

With a hands-on leadership style, you will optimize equipment utilisation, manage costs and foster risk-aware decision-making across supervisors and operators on site.

Qualifications

Job description

As Mining Manager, you will provide leadership and direction across the Yellow Iron Fleet mining operation, taking ownership of safe and efficient delivery of the mining plan. You will work closely with site leadership, supervisors, operators, maintenance and technical personnel to ensure operational priorities are understood, resources are effectively deployed and production objectives are achieved safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

Provide visible leadership and maintain a strong safety-first culture

Ensure mining activities are undertaken in accordance with site requirements, procedures and applicable legislation

Lead effective hazard identification, risk management and incident prevention

Hold leaders and teams accountable for safe work practices and standards

Lead the execution of daily, weekly and longer-term mining activities

Coordinate people, equipment and operational priorities to achieve production targets

Monitor mining performance and proactively address constraints and emerging risks

Maintain close alignment between operations, maintenance and technical functions

Drive equipment availability, utilisation and productive operating hours

Ensure mining activities are completed in accordance with mine plans and operational requirements

About you

Significant experience in open-cut mining or large-scale earthmoving operations

Demonstrated experience in a senior mining leadership or management position

Strong leadership experience across supervisors, operators and multidisciplinary teams

Sound understanding of mining production, load and haul operations and mobile equipment management

Strong safety leadership and risk-management capability

Demonstrated ability to manage production performance, equipment utilisation and operating costs

Strong planning, problem-solving and decision-making skills

Clear and confident communication skills

A hands-on leadership style with the ability to build accountability throughout the operation

Relevant mining, management or technical qualifications and competencies
