Job summary

Benalla Racing Club is seeking a Track Work Supervisor to oversee training activities and enforce the club's rules and safety standards at its Benalla facilities.

You will maintain accurate usage records, coordinate with trainers, report maintenance needs, manage incident paperwork, and respond to emergencies in line with safety regulations. This role requires independent work, strong organization, and knowledge of track facilities; occupational health and safety qualifications are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
• Detailed knowledge of the Club's rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of potential horse behaviour to ensure a safe environment.
• Strong communication to engage a diverse range of people.
• High level of organization and ability to record track usage and incidents.

Responsibilities

• Perform as part of a team.
• Unlock gates and check safety and security of facilities prior to commencement of track work.
• Ensure that the club's rules and regulations are complied with by all complex users.
• Communicate with trainers on issues and provision of information that ensures the smooth operation of the training centre.
• Complete paperwork in relation to incident reports.
• Activate and provide clear instructions to all participants of emergency procedures in the event of an incident.
• Assess injured person and apply necessary first aid, ring 000 for ambulance as needed.
• Activate Notifiable Incident procedures following a serious injury and contact WorkSafe immediately on 132 360.
• Report internally any incident involving a person or a horse.
• Proactively identify health and safety issues or maintenance needs.
