Job summary

Toowoomba Regional Council – Pittsworth QLD is seeking a Traffic Management Design (TMD) and Integrated Management System (IMS) Technical Support Officer. You will develop, implement and review Traffic Management Plans for maintenance and capital projects, while supporting IMS quality, environmental and safety components.

Key responsibilities include contributing to risk assessments, training and auditing, with a view to continual improvement within the Infrastructure Services Group.

Qualifications

• Experience in implementing integrated quality, environmental and safety management systems.
• Strong understanding of traffic management planning and risk controls.
• Willingness to obtain required checks within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and review Traffic Management Plans and Traffic Guidance Schemes for maintenance and capital works.
• Coordinate and contribute to IMS/ISG quality, environmental and safety components.
• Assist in risk assessments, awareness training and auditing activities.

About the role

Workingunder general direction, the Traffic Management Design (TMD) andIntegrated Management System (IMS) Technical Support Officer willdevelop, implement and review Traffic Management Plans and TrafficGuidance Schemes for maintenance activities and capitalconstruction projects.

The TMD/IMSTechnical Support Officer will assist in the coordination,implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of theInfrastructure Services Group (ISG) quality, environmental andsafety components of the IMS, risk assessments, awareness trainingand auditing.

About you

• Traffic ManagementDesign (QLD) qualification. If not held this must be obtainedwithin 12 months of commencement.
• Quality Auditorqualifications. If not held this must be obtained within 12months of commencement.
• WHSCompetency (White Card) for CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safelyin the construction industry, or equivalent, or a willingnessto obtain prior to commencement.
• Working in Proximityto Traffic Awareness Part 1 and 2, or a willingness to obtainwithin 3 months of commencement.
• Experience in thefield of implementing integrated quality, environmental andsafety management systems.
• Understanding of andcommitment to Council’s Organisational Value and Behaviour ofSafety and Wellbeing.

Thepreferred candidate will be required to undertake a CriminalHistory Check and a pre-employment medical assessment to assesstheir ability to perform the genuine occupational requirements ofthe position.
