Job summary

Lifeblood, part of the Australian Red Cross, is seeking a Technical Support Officer in Sydney to support transplant immunology services. You will interpret testing requests, manage data and samples, and coordinate testing pathways in a regulatory environment.

About the role

We’re looking for a Technical Support Officer to join our Transplant Immunology Services (TIS) team. This is an opportunity to use your technical knowledge, administrative, data management, sample management and operational support across our transplant testing services. You’ll use your judgement and technical knowledge to interpret testing requests, identify and resolve discrepancies, manage clinical data and samples, coordinate testing pathways and ensure work is completed accurately and on time as per regulatory framework(NATA, ASHI, cGMP )

Working across bothnon-laboratory and laboratory-based activities, you’ll be an important link between our laboratory, transplant units and other internal and external stakeholders.

• Technical qualification and/or relevant experience
• Experienced data entry with high level accuracy and attention to detail.
• Prior experience with customer information management systems or laboratory information management systems(LIMS) is highly desirable.
• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding and use of quality systems
• Prior experience with sample registration in pathology or medical setting desirable, but not essential.
