Job summary

Australian Red Cross Lifeblood seeks a Medical Scientist for the SATIS team in South Australia to deliver diagnostic testing for transplantation matching and immunogenetics work. About the role

We are currently seeking a full-time Medical Scientist for our South Australian Transplantation & Immunogenetics Service team (SATIS) to provide diagnostic laboratory testing for transplantation matching, identification of genes and antibodies affecting the immune response for tissue typing and investigations into leucocyte-related transfusion reactions.

In this role, you will continually look for ways to optimise work processes, actively learning and adapting your approach to achieve great outcomes. Within the role, you'll be accountable for:

• HLA matching of transplant recipients and donors as well as provision of immunogenetic services
• HLA compatibility for transfusion purposes

This is a Permanent full-time position, based out of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in North Adelaide. Working days would be Monday to Friday however flexibility is required to cover on-call hours. Rosters for on-call hours is prepared way in advance.
