Arrowfield Stud is seeking a dedicated Horse Trainer/Breeding – Assistant Foaling Manager in Scone, NSW. This full-time role involves training broodmares and young stock, foaling management, and close collaboration with veterinarians to support reproduction and care.

Applicants should have a Certificate III (or equivalent) and strong Thoroughbred experience; overseas applicants need a valid visa. The position emphasizes safety, hands-on care, and leadership in supervising staff during foaling

Qualificações

• Certificate III or equivalent international qualification, or 3 years’ professional full-time experience educating and training horses.
• Minimum of two years’ equivalent full-time experience handling and working with thoroughbred horses.
• Knowledge of horse training and handling methods specific to Thoroughbreds, including stallions, sales or breeding.
• Proven ability to train and educate young horses.
• Oral and written communication skills to take instruction, provide information and advice to others and prepare basic reports.
• Knowledge of safe operation of all equipment and use of PPE.
• Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to training and preparation of racehorses.

Responsabilidades

• Horse Trainer/Breeding - Assistant Foaling Manager – Duties including training broodmares and young stock.
• Monitoring and handling mares imminently in foal.
• Foaling care including pre- and post-natal care of broodmares and foals.
• Monitoring mare ovulation and pregnancy.
• Early education of foals and young stock.
• Educating and preparing weanlings and yearlings for sale.
• Overseeing daily care and supervision of horses and staff where required.
• Assisting veterinarians with ultrasound/reproduction examination and assisting in birthing foals and administering medical treatment to foals.
