Job summary

Arrowfield Stud and Training Centre in Scone NSW is seeking a highly experienced Horse Trainer/Breeding - Assistant Foaling Manager to join our team full-time. You will train broodmares and young stock, monitor mares in foal, supervise daily care, and assist in foaling and neonatal care.

Applicants need Certificate III or equivalent, or at least two years’ full-time experience with thoroughbreds, strong communication, safety awareness, and ability to work with veterinarians during ultrasound and

Qualifications

• Certificate III or equivalent qualification, or at least three years’ full-time experience educating and training horses.
• Minimum of two years’ full-time experience handling and educating thoroughbred horses.
• Knowledge of horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbreds, including stallions, sales or breeding.

Responsibilities

• Train broodmares and young stock.
• Monitor mares imminently in foal and during foaling, including pre- and post-natal care.
• Educate and prepare weanlings and yearlings for sale; oversee daily care and staff where required.
• Assist veterinarians with ultrasound/reproduction examinations and assist in births.
