Job summary

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne is seeking an experienced Theatre Technician for a full-time role based at our Werribee site, reporting to the Theatre Nurse Unit Manager. You will assist with procedures, manage theatre equipment and patient positioning, and help maintain perioperative workflows.

The role requires a Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Operating Theatre Support) and prior perioperative exposure, with a strong focus on teamwork and safety.

Qualifications

  • Criminal record and child protection checks will be conducted.
  • Must comply with SVHA Staff Health Screening Immunisation Policy.
  • Previous perioperative experience is preferred.

An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced Theatre Technician to join our team on a full-time basis. Based at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Werribee, this role will report directly to the Theatre Nurse Unit Manager.

Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Assisting the surgeon and nursing staff with surgical procedures through provision, operation and maintenance of theatre equipment and the positioning / preparation of patients.
  • Facilitating efficient perioperative processes and ensure the smooth operation and running of perioperative services
  • Ensuring equipment and stock are available at all times for perioperative services staff.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Operating Theatre Support) from an accredited institution
  • Previous experience in a Perioperative setting.
  • Proven strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with staff of all levels.

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne (SVPHM) is a facility of St Vincent’s Health Australia under the stewardship of Mary Aikenhead Ministries. We are a not for profit Catholic private hospital which operates across four sites at Fitzroy, East Melbourne, Kew and Werribee.

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne extended its trusted, state of the art health care services to areas west of Melbourne when it opened the doors of a new private hospital January 2018

The Services available at our Werribee hospital include orthopaedic, cardiology, ear nose and throat, plastic and reconstructive surgery, urology, general surgery, vascular, rehabilitation and oncology/infusions. Facilities include operating theatres, a day procedure unit, oncology/infusion unit, a cardiac catheter laboratory, and a rehabilitation gymnasium.
