Job summary

Northern Sydney Local Health District is seeking a Chief Operations Assistant to lead a 20-strong team in the NBH Operating Theatre complex, ensuring safe, efficient patient transport and theatre readiness.

You will supervise rostering, attend relevant meetings, and coordinate cross‑disciplinary activities to support elective and emergency procedures. A strong emphasis on safety, communication, and collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a multidisciplinary team in an acute care setting.
• Experience with intraoperative theatre duties and patient transfer.
• Ability to commit to a 7-day roster including night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of approximately 20 FTE Operations Assistants in theatre.
• Coordinate rostering and day-to-day support for the unit.
• Assist with transporting medication between inpatient pharmacy and operating theatres.
