Job summary

Southern NSW Local Health District is seeking an Operations Assistant to support the Interventional Suite at Northern Beaches Hospital. The role involves cleaning, safe patient handling, transport of patients and equipment, and assisting the nursing team in a hands-on environment.

The position is permanent, 38 hours per week, with on-site work at NBH and a focus on maintaining high hygiene standards in line with infection control policies.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloads.
• Ability to deal confidently and courteously with people at all levels.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Capacity to work under supervision and/or independently and to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective team member.
• Must be able to fulfil the physical requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning all areas of the Interventional suite whilst maintaining a high standard of hygiene as applicable to ACORN and Infection Prevention and Control standards and according to cleaning procedures and policies at NBH.
• Accountable for providing safe effective patient handling and positioning of patients.
• Responsible for the safe transport of patients, specimens, equipment and sundry items within and to and from the Interventional suite.
• Cleaning duties as assigned, and as according to daily, weekly and periodic schedules, including general cleaning, terminal cleaning of theatres and surrounding areas.
• The role will also provide support for the nursing team in the interventional area.
• This position is hands on and requires a high level of physical work.
