Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Recent perioperative operating theatre experience; Neurosurgery/Spinal experience desirable but not essential.
• Able to work autonomously and exercise independent professional judgement.
• Strong organisational and time management skills in fast-paced settings.
• Flexible scheduling including rostered shifts and on-call.
• Proficient computer skills including EMR, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating theatre for complex spinal and cranial surgeries with specialist instruments and equipment.
• Maintain aseptic technique and deliver patient-centred care throughout the perioperative journey.
• Anticipate surgical team needs and respond quickly during procedures to support outcomes.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre staff in a demanding environment.
• Exercise professional judgement and critical thinking during procedures and incidents.
• Contribute to quality improvement, governance and patient safety initiatives.
