Job summary

MidCoast Council's Manning Entertainment Centre (MEC) is seeking a proactive Theatre Loader to join the Production Team. You will help with setup, pack down, and transport of lighting, sound, and staging equipment for live performances and cultural events in the community.

You will work alongside theatre technicians and visiting crews, contributing to safe operations, teamwork, and a positive backstage environment. The role requires physical work and flexibility for nights and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Ability to follow direction in a team environment
• Physically capable of lifting and moving equipment
• Willingness to learn safety and venue procedures

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, setup, and pack down of lighting, sound, staging, and other production equipment.
• Safely load and unload trucks and transport technical equipment.
• Support production crews with staging, set movements, and backstage duties.
• Follow MEC safety procedures and report issues promptly.
