Job summary

IAG is seeking a Specialist, Testing (QA/Tester) to join the Pricing Systems team in Sydney or Melbourne on a 6-month contract, hybrid setup. The role balances manual testing with automation work, focusing on validating pricing rules and configurations while expanding automation coverage.

You will work with backend APIs and frontend UI, contributing to test frameworks and CI/CD pipelines, in an Agile environment with strong collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on domain exposure to insurance systems, ideally pricing, rating, or premium systems.
• Proficient with Jira, Xray, and Confluence for defect logging and reporting.
• Strong experience writing and executing manual test cases from requirements and user stories.
• Hands-on API testing with Postman or Bruno.
• Solid experience in test automation across API and UI layers.
• Contributes to and maintains Python-based automation frameworks (e.g., Behave, Playwright) for API and UI tests.
• Ability to leverage AI tools to enhance testing efficiency and automation development.
• Comfortable in an Agile environment with user-story delivery.

Specialist, Testing (QA / Tester) — IAG, Pricing Systems

Sydney or Melbourne (Hybrid) | 6-month contract, ASAP start

About the role

At IAG, the purpose is to make the world a safer place — customer led, data driven, and focused on enabling the communities and people they serve to be safer, stronger and more confident. This role's unique contribution is to efficiently provide insight into the quality of the Consumer Lines Pricing (CLP) product at any given point in time.

This is a mid-level engagement, split roughly evenly between manual and automation testing. You'll carry a genuine manual testing workload alongside contributing to, running, and extending the team's automation coverage. It suits someone comfortable building on an established test practice day-to-day, rather than someone whose background is purely in designing automation architecture from a blank slate.

Key responsibilities

What you'll need

• Genuine, hands‑on domain exposure to insurance systems, ideally pricing, rating, or premium systems — this is a mandatory requirement for this engagement, not just a nice-to-have
• Proficient with Jira, Xray, and Confluence for defect logging, tracking, and reporting
• Strong experience writing and executing manual test cases based on requirements and user stories
• Hands‑on exposure to backend API testing using tools such as Postman or Bruno
• Solid experience in test automation for digital applications across both API and UI layers
