Job summary

Minutes To Seconds Pty Ltd in Melbourne is seeking a skilled Test Analyst for a long-term contract. You will analyse requirements, design tests, and drive quality across systems, APIs, and data interfaces to ensure successful delivery.

You will develop test plans and scripts, execute multiple testing types, coordinate UAT, report defects, and contribute to process improvements. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in testing, strong SQL skills, and experience with Azure DevOps or Jira.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in all aspects of the test management process (analysis, design, planning, testing execution, monitoring and reporting).
• Mentored team members in testing standards and best practices.
• Coordinated test activities, defined test cases, scenarios and scripts from business requirements and use cases.
• Test scripting and execution for system, integration, and database testing.
• Intermediate SQL skills.
• File input/output testing with large flat-files.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.
• Experience with a project management/test tool – Azure DevOps or Jira.

Responsibilities

• Analyse business requirements, functional specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria to determine testing requirements.
• Develop Test Plans, Test Scenarios, Test Cases, Test Scripts and Test Data.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, acceptance criteria and test cases.
• Execute Functional Testing, System Testing, SIT, Regression Testing and End-to-End Testing.
• Coordinate UAT with business stakeholders.
• Test integrations between enterprise applications, APIs, middleware and third-party platforms.
• Validate inbound/outbound interfaces, API responses, batch processing and end-to-end data flows.
• Perform database and data validation using SQL, including source-to-target reconciliation.
• Identify, document and manage defects through their lifecycle.
• Re-test resolved defects and conduct regression testing.
• Work with developers and vendors for root-cause analysis.
• Defect triage meetings and prioritization.

Our client is having multiple opportunities for Test Analysts in a long-term contract position.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse business requirements, functional specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria to determine testing requirements.
• Develop Test Plans, Test Scenarios, Test Cases, Test Scripts and Test Data.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, acceptance criteria and test cases.
• Execute Functional Testing, System Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), Regression Testing and End-to-End Testing.
• Support and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders.
• Test integrations between enterprise applications, APIs, middleware and third-party platforms.
• Validate inbound/outbound interfaces, API responses, batch processing and end-to-end data flows.
• Perform database and data validation using SQL, including source-to-target reconciliation.
• Validate data migration, transformation rules, master data and transactional data.
• Identify, document and manage defects through their complete lifecycle.
• Re-test resolved defects and conduct regression testing to ensure fixes have not impacted existing functionality.
• Work closely with developers and vendors to investigate defects and support root-cause analysis.
• Participate in defect triage meetings and help determine defect severity, priority and business impact.
• Maintain testing evidence and documentation required for project governance and release approval.
• Provide regular reporting on test execution, pass/fail rates, outstanding defects, risks and readiness.
• Support Go/No-Go assessments by providing clear testing status and outstanding risk information.
• Participate in deployment and cutover planning.
• Perform post-deployment smoke testing and production validation.
• Support the project during go-live, hypercare and transition to BAU.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing standards, templates and processes.

Requirements

• Proven experience demonstrating responsibility for all aspects of the test management process (analysis, design, planning, testing execution, monitoring and reporting).
• Demonstrated experience mentoring team members in testing standards, processes and testing best practice.
• Demonstrated experience in maintaining the integrity of testing and coordinating the execution of these activities, defining test cases, scenarios and scripts based on business requirements and use cases.
• Test scripting and execution – system, integration, and database
• Intermediate level (or higher) SQL skills
• File input and output testing (large flat-files)
• Great communication skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable working in an environment with changing priorities
• Experience working with a project management/test tool – preferably Azure DevOps or Jira

Must have

• 3+ years experience in a Test Analyst role
• Intermediate SQL skills

• Supply chain experience
