Job summary

Recruitment Hive in Canberra is seeking an experienced Senior IT Test Analyst to join our client’s team, delivering policies and programs for the Australian Government across health, aged care and sport sectors.

You will design, execute and review test scripts, manage defects, support test estimates and schedules, and mentor staff while complying with record-keeping policies.

• APS6 / SFIA4 | UAT | Defect Management | Test Strategy

Our client, which delivers policies and programs and provides advice to the Australian Government across the health, aged care and sport sectors, is seeking an experienced Senior Test Analyst to join their team.

Duties of the Senior Test Analyst

• Prepare, create, maintain, execute and review test requirements and scripts, derived from design analysis and liaise with design, build and business teams;
• Assist in the production release and review of all test deliverables;
• Support Test Manager in leading, developing Test Estimates, Test Schedule(s), Impact Analysis and resource co‑ordination;
• Adhere to the Defect Management strategy to manage defects, gathering information for defect entries and identifying points of failure and organising resources in the investigation of issues;
• Provide leadership and direction to others and plan, coordinate and prepare individual performance, development and succession plans that contribute to the overall strategic direction of the agency;
• Transfer skills and knowledge to departmental staff and ensure appropriate documentation is stored in accordance with the Department’s record‑keeping policy and practice.

Skills and Experience Required

• Demonstrated experience analysing business requirements, user stories, specifications and design documentation to develop and maintain effective test cases, test scripts and test data.
• Demonstrated experience executing manual tests, identifying and documenting defects, supporting defect investigation and retesting activities, and ensuring testing outcomes meet quality standards.
• Demonstrated ability to investigate issues, analyse test results, identify root causes and provide practical recommendations to support quality delivery outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, developers and project teams to achieve testing outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, work under limited direction, adapt to changing requirements and deliver quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
• Degree in Information Technology and ISTQB Foundation Test Analyst;
• Knowledge of test design techniques, test execution processes, and the use of testing tools to support project delivery;
• Demonstrated experience (6+years) as Senior IT Test Analyst;
• Exposure to or previous experience in .Net, Seibel, Salesforce applications.
