Job summary

City of Boroondara is seeking a hands-on Test Analyst to support a major transformation program (PPP). You will design and execute functional, process-flow and end-to-end testing across connected SaaS, ERP and regulatory systems.

You will translate requirements into test scenarios, manage evidence and support UAT and defect triage with stakeholders to ensure readiness for production release.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing and executing functional, process-flow and end-to-end testing.
• Experience testing integrated SaaS, ERP or enterprise systems.
• ISTQB Foundation or equivalent certification is highly regarded.

A little bit about the role

Council’s Property, Planning and Permits (PPP) program is modernising how Council delivers services to the community. The PPP program is implementing Datascape and MyDatascape across property, planning, building and regulatory services, supported by significant business-process change, integrations, data migration and financial and regulatory controls. Council requires credible, independent evidence that the new capability is fit for purpose, operationally ready and sustainable through future SaaS releases.

The Test Analyst provides hands‑on functional testing across the PPP project’s customer, staff and operational processes. The role works with subject matter experts, business analysts, process owners, suppliers and users to translate requirements, process designs, business rules, user journeys and acceptance criteria into realistic scenarios, test cases, exploratory testing, walkthroughs and UAT support.

The role works with employees at all levels across Council and with Senior Test Lead, will work with SaaS vendor functional specialists, migration and integration suppliers testing‑tool vendors and specialist assurance providers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Work with SMEs, business analysts and process owners to define realistic test scenarios, expected outcomes, test data and acceptance evidence.
• Apply risk-based testing priorities across customer, operational, financial, regulatory and service-delivery impacts.
• Prepare functional testing materials, including test scenarios, test cases, exploratory testing charters, walkthrough packs and evidence expectations.
• Coordinate testing inputs such as business data, environments, user roles, preconditions and SME participation.
• Support UAT activities, including business user support, defect triage, retesting and evidence review.
• Execute functional and end-to-end testing across process flows, user journeys, roles, regression, cutover rehearsal and production verification.
• Validate key business processes, including approvals, notifications, payments, refunds, hand‑offs, exceptions, business rules and data outcomes.
• Capture test evidence and manage defects by raising clear defects, retesting fixes, assessing regression impacts and escalating unresolved risks.
• Support informed acceptance decisions by providing credible evidence on readiness, residual risks and functional quality.

A little bit about you

You will be a practical, detail-oriented Test Analyst who enjoys working closely with business users, SMEs, analysts, suppliers and technical teams to test complex systems, this role will suit you. You will bring demonstrated hands‑on experience designing and executing functional, process-flow, user‑journey and end-to‑end testing across integrated SaaS, ERP or enterprise environments.

You will be confident translating requirements, business processes and acceptance criteria into realistic test scenarios, clear expected results and credible evidence. You will apply a risk-based mindset to testing, focusing on customer, operational, financial, regulatory and service-delivery impacts.

You are organised, analytical and collaborative, with strong communication skills and the ability to document test cases, defects, evidence and residual risks clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences. You will be confident supporting UAT, walkthroughs, defect triage and retesting, and have the ability to support business stakeholders make informed acceptance decisions.

You will have strong knowledge of system, functional, end-to-end, regression testing, UAT support, testing, cutover rehearsal, and production-verification testing across customer, staff and operational processes. ISTQB Foundation or equivalent professional certification will be highly regarded.
