Job summary

TheData & Digital division of the Victorian Public Sector is seeking a Test Analyst in Melbourne to join the Spatial Services and Planning Solutions branch. This role supports testing activities for planning digital solutions across the state, working in an Agile delivery environment to ensure quality across production and new systems.

You will design and document test cases, execute manual and automated tests, monitor progress, and report on testing outcomes.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification or proven extensive experience in manual and automation testing (mandatory).
• Experience working in agile software delivery environments (mandatory).
• Experience working with AWS cloud and related services (mandatory).
• Experience with Confluence, JIRA, Zephyr and Miro is desirable.

TheData & Digitaldivision provides the department with operational excellence for data and digital enabledservices and project execution for large scale design and uplift initiatives.This rolesitswithin theSpatial Services and Planning SolutionsbranchofData & Digitalandisresponsible forthe planning,managementand execution of testingactivitiesforplanningdigital solutions for the state of Victoria.

The Test Analystoperateswithin an Agile delivery environment, collaborating closely with scrum team members, business stakeholders, vendors, and other relevant third parties to ensure the successful delivery of system, integration, and user acceptance testing across supported business applications. The roleis responsible fordesigning and documenting test cases, executing both manual and automated tests,monitoringand reporting testing activities, and promoting a quality-first mindset throughout all stages of the delivery lifecycle. This includes supporting testing activities for both existing production applications and the implementation of new systems, platforms, and technology solutions.

• Enjoys delivering quality digital solutions and working within Agile teams to support successful project outcomes.
• Can plan, coordinate and execute testing activities, including test design, automation, defect management, and reporting.
• Identifies and manages quality risks, ensuring issues are addressed early and solutions are reliable, stable, and fit for purpose.
• Builds strong relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams to drive collaboration and shared success.
• Drives continuous improvement, using data, systems thinking, and innovation to enhance testing practices and team performance.

Qualifications and experience

You’llbring:

• Tertiary qualification or proven extensive experience in manual and automation testing (mandatory)
• Experience working in agile software delivery environments (mandatory)
• Experience working with AWS cloud and related services (mandatory)
• Experience working with project and testing tracking tools such as Confluence, JIRA, Zephyr, Miro (desirable).
