Job summary

Chartwells is seeking a reliable Kitchen Hand to join the catering team at a prestigious private school in Bathurst. The role offers term-time work, with school holidays off, flexible rosters, free parking and meals provided on shift.

The position involves assisting with food prep, deep cleaning, stock organisation and strict adherence to food safety and WHS standards. You will support chefs and the wider team in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a high-volume kitchen hand or hospitality environment.
• Strong time management and multitasking in a fast-paced setting.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Willingness to obtain Working With Children Check.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation and presentation of food.
• Wash dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment at high volume.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen, dining and service areas, including deep cleaning duties.
• Receive, unpack and organise stock deliveries and supplies.
• Follow strict food safety and WHS standards in line with company protocols.
• Support chefs and the wider catering team as required.
