Job summary

Align Talent Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer for a temporary assignment in Melbourne's northern suburbs. The role focuses on accurate processing of high-volume weekly and fortnightly payrolls across multiple awards, with support from the Payroll Manager and a dedicated payroll team.

You will review timesheets, apply awards, handle enquiries, and ensure compliance with payroll legislation. The position offers hybrid office/remote work and runs from mid-November to late February,

Qualifications

• Experience handling high-volume payrolls across weekly/fortnightly cycles.
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and entitlements.
• Proficiency with payroll software and Excel for large data sets.

Responsibilities

• Process high-volume weekly and fortnightly payroll runs accurately.
• Interpret multiple awards and enterprise agreements.
• Review timesheets, hours, allowances, penalties and related data.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to queries from staff and managers.
• Meet processing deadlines and support payroll reconciliations and reporting.
