Job summary

Elecdata Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Telecommunications Technician with electrical experience for a full-time, on-site role. You will install, test, commission and maintain telecommunications and electrical infrastructure across diverse projects, including rough-in and fit-off, fault-finding and documentation.

The successful candidate will hold a NSW Electrical Licence, Open Cabling Registration (ACMA) with endorsements, and be capable of working independently or in a team on commercial,

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Telecommunications Technician, Data Cabler, Communications Technician, Electrician or similar role.
• Current NSW Electrical Licence – required
• Open Cabling Registration (ACMA) with relevant endorsements – required
• Strong telecommunications and structured cabling experience

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, label and test structured cabling including Cat6/Cat6A and fibre optic
• Install communications hardware including racks, patch panels, outlets and cable management systems
• Undertake electrical installation and related works to standards and project requirements
• Perform fault finding, diagnostics and repairs on telecommunications and electrical systems
• Complete rough-in and fit-off of telecommunications and electrical infrastructure
• Read and interpret technical drawings, plans and specifications
• Perform fibre optic installation, termination, testing and fault finding
• Complete testing, certification and commissioning documentation
• Ensure all works are completed safely, on time and to a high standard
• Liaise with clients, site supervisors and team members
• Maintain tools and work areas in a safe condition
• Work on commercial, government and rail projects as required
