Job summary

National Rugby League is seeking a strategic technology leader to head the Technology Programs and Services portfolio. You will shape roadmaps, align technology investment with business priorities and govern major programs in partnership with Product and business leaders.

You will drive governance, enable delivery, manage budgets and vendor relationships while advancing workforce capability and governance controls across software, data and services.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in technology leadership roles and leading technology portfolios.
• Experience governing significant technology investments and executive decision-making.
• Strong leadership with a track record of building teams and organisational capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead the NRL's technology portfolio, roadmap, investment planning and prioritisation activities.
• Provide executive oversight of major technology programs, ensuring effective management of scope, budget, timelines, risks and dependencies.
• Partner with Product and business leaders to translate strategic priorities into achievable technology programs and delivery plans.
• Lead portfolio governance, investment decision-making and executive reporting across the technology function.
• Set technology direction across software, data, integration and technology services while empowering technical leaders to own detailed design and engineering decisions.
• Oversee technology service performance, lifecycle management, resilience and operational sustainability.
• Manage technology budgets, forecasts, suppliers and strategic vendor relationships.
• Build organisational capability through workforce planning, leadership development and succession planning.
• Champion the practical use of AI, automation and modern ways of working to improve organisational capability and efficiency.
