Job summary

Infosys Limited in Sydney is seeking a Technology Analyst to transform data landscapes and deliver scalable data engineering solutions. You will design, build, and optimize data pipelines, collaborating with product owners and analytics teams to improve data availability and insights.

The role requires 4–5 years in data engineering, strong SQL and Python skills, and experience with Azure Databricks, Airflow, and data warehousing.

Qualifications

  • 4–5 years of Data Engineering and Data Warehousing experience.
  • Strong SQL and Python with data science knowledge.
  • Experience with Azure and Databricks cloud data warehouses.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance, optimize, and maintain data ingestion, transformation, and extraction pipelines for reporting and analytics on the Unified Data platform.
  • Collaborate with Product Owner and Chapter Lead to understand priorities and gather requirements from initiative owners.
  • Perform data wrangling, profiling, and analysis for new datasets from source systems and existing datasets.
  • Coordinate with teams for planning, governance, engineering, and release management to ensure timely delivery.
  • Build new data assets and pipelines for downstream requirements (e.g., Tableau vs. TM1 cubes).
  • Document low-level design, mapping, test cases, release plans, and support manuals.
  • Schedule data pipelines using Control-M and Airflow with SLA compliance.
  • Provide warranty support to Operations post-production and update docs.
  • Collaborate with multiple business and IT teams to deliver outcomes.
  • Ensure effective communication across stakeholders and business units.
  • Gain knowledge by reviewing code to understand the Optus domain.
  • Adapt to an agile environment with changing challenges and tight timeframes.
  • Balance competing priorities to ensure timely resolution.
  • Develop sensible alternate solutions using market knowledge.

Salary: AUD $ 89,430-$86,020 Annual Gross

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Enhance, optimize, and maintain existing data ingestion, transformation, and extraction pipelines and assets built for reporting and analytics on the Unified Data platform.
  • Work with the Product Owner and Chapter Lead to understand quarterly priorities and OKRs, Data Science Machine Learning and gather detailed requirements from initiative owners or program sponsors based on planned Epics.
  • Perform data wrangling, profiling, and analysis for new datasets ingested from source systems and those derived from existing datasets using on-premises and cloud-native tools.
  • Coordinate with other teams for planning, design, governance, engineering, and release management to ensure timely and accurate delivery of data and services.
  • Build new data assets and pipelines tailored to downstream requirements (e.g., datasets for Tableau vs. TM1 cubes).
  • Document low-level design, source-to-column mapping, test cases, production release implementation plans, and operational support manuals.
  • Schedule data pipelines using tools like Control M and Airflow, ensuring correct upstream dependencies and SLA compliance.
  • Provide warranty support to Operations post-production release and update documentation accordingly.
  • Collaborate with multiple business and IT teams to deliver the final outcome.
  • Ensuring effective communication and collaboration across multiple stakeholders and business units of Optus.
  • Gaining functional knowledge by reviewing the existing code base to better understand the Optus domain.
  • Adapting to an agile environment with constant change and diverse challenges in a competitive market.
  • Working effectively within tight timeframes.
  • Balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders across various business initiatives and managing competing priorities to ensure timely resolution.
  • The ability to develop sensible alternate solutions, utilising your market knowledge whilst working both quickly and accurately to meet short deadlines and manage competing priorities.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Information Management.
Work Experience:
  • 4–5 years of experience in Data Engineering and Data Warehousing.
Technical Skills:
  • Hands-on experience with advanced SQL and Python and knowledge of Data Science [Machine Learning].
  • Proficient in data profiling.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms like Azure and cloud data warehouses such as Databricks.
  • Skilled in scheduling tools like Airflow and Control M.
  • Knowledgeable in Big Data tools such as Spark (Python/Scala), Hive, Impala, Hue, and storage systems like HDFS and HBase.
  • Familiar with CI/CD processes including BitBucket/GitHub, Jenkins, and Nexus.
  • Capable of managing both structured and unstructured data types.
Preferred:
  • Non Technical skills: Experience working with a team of data engineers across different locations and time zones.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong prioritization abilities.
  • Pragmatic stakeholder management.
