Job summary

Gold Fields is seeking a skilled Underground Plant Mechanic in Western Australia to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on underground and surface infrastructure at the St Ives Mine. The role is permanent, with a 8/6 and 7/7 roster and FIFO from Perth, plus a strong team culture.

Ideal candidates will hold an Australian recognised Mechanical Trade Certificate and have experience with underground fixed plant maintenance, crane/dogging/EWP/forklift tickets, and SAP for maintenance

Qualifications

• Experience maintaning underground mining plant infrastructure.
• Ability to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on fixed plant equipment.
• Strong problem solving to minimise downtime and production loss.

Responsibilities

• Execute preventative maintenance through inspections, servicing, adjustments and timely repairs of plant and underground equipment.
• Provide reliable maintenance knowledge to minimise downtime and support production targets.
• Process maintenance orders, requisition parts, and record labour time using SAP.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards in underground and surface maintenance workshops.
• Collaborate effectively in a strong, team-based culture and work safely.

The Opportunity:

In the role, you will be responsible for providing quality and timely preventative mechanical maintenance and repairs of the Underground and Surface Infrastructure as part of our Underground Plant Mechanical Maintenance Team at St Ives Mine.

Skills & Qualifications

• Current manual driver’s licence.
• Australian recognised Mechanical Trade Certificate
• Strong Mechanical Maintenance of underground mining fixed plant infrastructure
• Crane, Dogging, EWP and Forklift Tickets -desirable
• Previous experience in Maintenance of Paste & Batching plants -Advantageous

About The Role

• Achieve targets by executing preventative maintenance through scheduled inspections, servicing, adjustments, trouble shooting and timely repair of plant and underground equipment
• Provide reliable and accurate maintenance knowledge, expertise, and practical application, to minimise down time and subsequent loss of production
• Associated administration, such as requisitioning of parts and materials, processing of maintenance orders, recording of labour time, etc. through the efficient utilisation of SAP
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping throughout then Underground and Surface maintenance workshops as with all areas where maintenance work is carried out
• Be able to work safely and collectively in a strong and dynamic team-based culture
