Job summary

Gold Fields is seeking a Leading Hand: Mechanical (Fixed) to supervise maintenance on site and keep production targets on track. FIFO roster from Perth, with a focus on safety, cost control and environmental compliance.

The role requires a trade qualification and proven leadership in mineral processing maintenance, with SAP and MS Office proficiency to coordinate tasks and report outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must hold an Australian recognised trade qualification.
• Statutory Supervisor Schedule 26 certification is preferred.
• Experience operating and maintaining a mineral processing plant.
• Holding a Manual WA C Driver's Licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day maintenance activities of the on-site mechanical team and contractors.
• Ensure preventative maintenance through inspections, servicing, and timely repairs.
• Coach and develop team members to improve capability and engagement.

Reporting to the Supervisor – Mechanical (Fixed), you will be responsible for the effective execution and supervision of mechanical maintenance related issues on site to enable achievement of budgeted production targets, meeting all quality standards including cost, safety, and environment.

About the Role:

• Comply with OHS & environmental standards & requirements;
• Evaluate associated risks & hazard of each task prior to the commencement to ensure a safe working environment;
• Manage the day-to-day activities of the Maintenance team inclusive of contractors ensuring awareness of the tasks, targets, and access to the necessary tools;
• Ensure the team are applying effective preventative maintenance practices through scheduled inspections, servicing, adjustments, troubleshooting and timely repair of equipment;
• Assist with training, development and coaching of the team to improve individual capability and enhance employee engagement, productivity and job satisfaction;
• Improve performance and growth by actively contributing to business & cultural improvement initiatives, encouraging team members to participate & identify barriers;
• Ensure minimal disruption to production through the ready access to critical parts and equipment
• Assist with determining proactive maintenance plans and shutdown programs, in disciplined areas of responsibility;
• Report all safety hazards, environmental hazards, incidents, damage, breakdowns and potential plant or equipment stoppages to a direct Supervisor or area Supervisor as soon as is practicable including those not directly related to your specific areas of responsibility.

• Prior experience in operation and maintenance of a mineral processing plant
• Manual WA C Drivers Licence
• Proficient in the use of SAP work management system or equivalent
• Proven leadership experience
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Programs
