Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Wetherill Park, NSW, is seeking a trade-certified Power Generation/Electrical Technician to perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs on generators at customer sites. You will work on-site, use specialized tools, and maintain documentation.

You will also train electrical apprentices, coordinate branch workloads, ensure compliance with NSW electrical certifications, and uphold Health, Safety & Environmental standards while delivering courteous service to customers.

Qualifications

• Apprentice Trained Power Generation/Electrical Technician (or equivalent).
• Diploma/Certificate from relevant technical institution.
• Current relevant electrical certification / tickets.
• Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products.
• High Voltage / Low Voltage Experience preferred.
• Experience in servicing and maintenance of standby and prime power generators.
• Experience in commercial / industrial electrical works.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and complete basic repairs, including preparing required parts and tools.
• Perform preventative maintenance activities on power generation products in the field.
• Complete service documentation (worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims).
• Train electrical apprentices in and out of the branch.
• Coordinate jobs and workload within the branch and delegate tasks.
• Maintain safety and environmental compliance with policies and legislation.
• Engage with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Complete in-workshop repairs as required.

Job description

Based out of our Wetherill Park branch in Greater Western Sydney, NSW, you will complete preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on Generator or component at the customer sites.

You will make an impact in the following ways:

• Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete basic repairs, including preparing required parts and tools

• Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor

• Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field

• Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims via handwritten forms or business system input screens

• Completes training in line with skill and business requirements

• Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation

• Train electrical apprentices in and out of the branch.

• Coordinate jobs and responsibilities within the branch and delegate workload.

• Understand relevant electrical certification required in country

• Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation

• Complete in workshop repairs as required

• Engages with customer in a courteous and professional manner.

• Ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs

Additional Information:

• Full Time / 38 hours per week

• Competitive Hourly Rate

• Overtime as required – Penalty rates paid for all work above 38 hours

• All your Safety equipment / PPE and uniforms are provided and laundered

• Local Valid Drivers License is required

• You must be trade certified to work in NSW.
