Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking an experienced Field Service Electrician – Power Generation to join our Carole Park branch. You will service Cummins and other generators, perform diagnostics, install gensets and DMCs, and support nationwide teams. This role supports a Monday–Friday roster with a rotating on-call schedule.

The ideal candidate holds a QLD electrical trade qualification and unrestricted A Licence, plus a current QLD Driver’s Licence and strong fault-finding skills.

Qualifications

• QLD electrical trade qualification and unrestricted A Grade licence.
• Valid QLD Driver’s Licence required.
• Field service experience desirable.
• Strong fault-finding on complex control systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnostics on Cummins and other manufacturers’ power generators.
• Install and commission new gensets, systems, transfer switches and DMC.
• Maintain and repair switchgear and battery systems.
• Complete service documentation and capture customer, equipment and technical information using required service tools.
• Handle and resolve technical escalations.
• Assist other Power Generation departments nationwide.

This is a Monday to Friday roster, with a flexible rotating on-call roster

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnostics on Cummins and other manufacturers’ power generators
• Install and commission new gensets, systems, transfer switches and Digital Master Controllers (DMC)
• Maintain and repair switchgear and battery systems
• Complete service documentation and capture customer, equipment and technical information using required service tools
• Handle and resolve technical escalations
• Assist other Power Generation departments nationwide

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Relevant QLD electrical trade qualification, unrestricted A Grade licence and valid QLD Driver’s Licence
• Field Service experience or similar is desirable
• Strong mechanical aptitude and solid knowledge of internal combustion engines
• Proven fault-finding skills across complex control systems, with strong accuracy and attention to detail
• Understanding of HV systems, Cummins PCC controls, industrial communication protocols and PLCs is advantageous
