Job summary

Cummins Asia Pacific is seeking a Field Service Technician based out of Wetherill Park, NSW. The role involves performing preventative maintenance and basic repairs on power generation products at customer sites.

The ideal candidate will have relevant trade certification and experience with standby and prime power generators. Full-time position with competitive hourly rates and all safety equipment provided.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained in Power Generation or Electrical Technician.
• Current relevant electrical certification required.
• Experience in servicing and maintenance of electric generators.

Responsibilities

• Complete preventative maintenance on generators at customer sites.
• Perform basic repairs using specialized tools and documented procedures.
• Engage with customers courteously and professionally.

Skills

Basic level knowledge of power generation products

Experience in servicing and maintenance of generators

High Voltage / Low Voltage Experience

Current relevant electrical certification

Education

Apprentice Trained Power Generation/ Electrical Technician

Job description

ased out of our Wetherill Park branch in Greater Western Sydney, NSW, you will complete preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on Generator or component at the customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete basic repairs, including preparing required parts and tools
• Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor
• Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field
• Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims via handwritten forms or business system input screens
• Completes training in line with skill and business requirements
• Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation
• Train electrical apprentices in and out of the branch.
• Coordinate jobs and responsibilities within the branch and delegate workload.
• Understand relevant electrical certification required in country
• Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation
• Complete in workshop repairs as required
• Engages with customer in a courteous and professional manner.
• Ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs

• Full Time / 38 hours per week

• Overtime as required – Penalty rates paid for all work above 38 hours
• All your Safety equipment / PPE and uniforms are provided and laundered
• Local Valid Drivers License is required
• You must be trade certified to work in NSW.

Qualifications

• Apprentice Trained Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (or equivalent)
• Diploma/Certificate from relevant technical institution
• Current relevant electrical certification / tickets
• Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products
• High Voltage / Low Voltage Experience preferred
• Experience in servicing and maintenance of standby and prime power generators
• Experience in commercial / industrial electrical works

This role requires 100% on-site work.
