Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking a Technician to perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs on standby and prime power generators at customer sites in NSW. The role is based at Wetherill Park, with full-time hours and overtime penalties.

You will diagnose issues, perform repairs using specialized tools, and complete service documentation while maintaining safety and vehicle readiness. Trade qualification, A Grade Electrical License, and HV/LV experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in electrical work.
• A Grade Electrical License required.
• Basic knowledge or experience with power generation products.
• High voltage / low voltage experience preferred.
• Experience servicing and maintaining standby and prime power generators.
• Experience in commercial/industrial electrical works.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and complete basic repairs using specialized tools and documented procedures.
• Prepare parts and tools for service tasks.
• Escalate unresolved issues to senior technicians or supervisor.
• Conduct preventative maintenance in line with schedules and standards.
• Complete service worksheets, timesheets and warranty claims.
• Maintain cleanliness and operation of service vehicle and tools.
• Train electrical apprentices in and out of the branch.
• Coordinate jobs within the branch and delegate workload.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental policies.

Based out of our Wetherill Park branch in Greater Western Sydney, NSW, you will complete preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on Generator or component at the customer sites.

You will make an impact in the following ways:

• Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete basic repairs, including preparing required parts and tools
• Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor
• Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field
• Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims via handwritten forms or business system input screens
• Completes training in line with skill and business requirements
• Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation
• Train electrical apprentices in and out of the branch.
• Coordinate jobs and responsibilities within the branch and delegate workload.
• Understand relevant electrical certification required in country
• Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation
• Complete in workshop repairs as required
• Engages with customer in a courteous and professional manner.
• Ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs

Additional Information:

• Full Time / 38 hours per week
• Competitive Hourly Rate
• Overtime as required – Penalty rates paid for all work above 38 hours
• All your Safety equipment / PPE and uniforms are provided and laundered
• Local Valid Drivers License is required
• You must be trade certified to work in NSW.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Trade Qualified Electrical
• A Grade Electrical License
• Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products
