Job summary

Cummins is seeking a Field Service Mechanic in the Gunnedah Basin region, Tamworth, Australia. The role involves breakdown and preventative maintenance on Cummins engines powering mining equipment.

You will work on-site with occasional DIDO/DPI options, with meals and accommodation paid where applicable. The ideal candidate has heavy diesel trade qualifications, a valid license, and proven field service experience.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Heavy Diesel/Heavy Commercial Vehicle (Light Vehicle also considered).
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Experience as a Diesel Mechanic in service and maintenance of heavy diesel equipment, mining engines, or similar applications is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform breakdown and preventative tasks.
• Diverse range of engine repairs, both major and minor.
• Work autonomously and in a strong team environment.
• Collaborate with other major OEMs – Komatsu, Hitachi, Liebherr.

We are looking for a talented Field Service Mechanic to join our high performing field service team. The Gunnedah Basin mining region is home to over 170 Cummins High Horsepower engines , powering a range of mining equipment.

This is a 7/7 Roster, for either someone local to Tamworth, or a Drive in, drive out opportunity can be available.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Perform breakdown and preventative tasks
• Diverse range engine repairs, both major and minor
• Working autonomously as well as having the ability to work in a great team environment
• Work with other major OEM’s – Komatsu, Hitachi, Liebherr

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Relevant trade qualification (Heavy Commercial Vehicle/Heavy Diesel, or Light Vehicle also considered)
• A valid driver’s license
• Experience as a Diesel Mechanic in the service and maintenance of heavy diesel products, mining equipment, engines and similar applications is preferred
