Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking an Apprentice Trained Engine Technician to service and repair engines in the field and workshop. You will diagnose issues, perform scheduled maintenance, and complete required documentation while maintaining the service vehicle and tools.

The role operates on a 2 weeks on / 1 week off, 12-hour shifts, with a 20% remote location allowance and potential domestic relocation for the right candidate. Local HR license is preferred, and heavy vehicle experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Cert III) or equivalent is required.
• Intermediate workshop or field service experience is required.
• Knowledge of engine products and related components is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers courteously and professionally and diagnose repairs.
• Diagnose and complete repairs using specialized tools and documented procedures.
• Perform preventative maintenance on engines and related components in the field or workshop.
• Escalate unresolved issues to senior technicians or supervisor.
• Complete documentation such as service worksheets and warranty claims.
• Identify additional service opportunities with customers.
• Maintain service vehicle and tools in clean, proper condition.
• Adhere to Health, Safety & Environmental policies and report issues.

Job description

You Will Make An Impact In The Following Ways

• Engage customers in a courteous and professional manner. Anticipates and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
• Apply the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
• Perform preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engine and related components in the field.
• Escalate unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor.
• Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
• Identify additional service opportunities with customer.
• Complete training in line with skill and business requirements.
• Maintain service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.
• Complete in workshop repairs as required
