Job summary

Hallam Truck Centre in Victoria, Australia, is seeking experienced Heavy Vehicle Technicians to join our workshop team. You will service, repair and diagnose Kenworth and DAF trucks using the latest tools and manufacturer training.

You’ll carry out engine, transmission and differential work, harness diagnostics, and supported pre-delivery tasks for PACCAR while aiming to help the team service 250+ trucks. Afternoon shift available, with strong career progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Qualified technician with experience on heavy vehicles or allied equipment such as power gensets or heavy plant
• Willingness to develop knowledge and work well in a team
• Experience with Cummins engines is highly regarded

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair chassis and engines; perform full engine, transmission and differential rebuilds
• Learn through daily repairs across vehicle systems
• Use diagnostic laptops to trace faults and adjust operating parameters
• Work on hydraulics and PTO for trucks and trailers; automotive electrical and fabrication tasks
• Provide roadside assistance and complete VicRoads roadworthy inspections
• Support pre-delivery work for PACCAR and help deliver 250+ trucks with the team
• Afternoon shift responsibilities and collaboration with workshop staff

About the Role

Hallam Truck Centre are seeking experienced Heavy Vehicle Technicians to join their workshop service team!

As a Heavy Vehicle Technician, you'll work on the iconic Kenworth and DAF truck brands, carrying out servicing, repairs and diagnostics using the latest tools, technology and manufacturer training. • Vehicle diagnosis leading tomechanical repairs and component replacement onchassis' and engines
• Learn through daily variety of repairs
• Engine, transmission and diff. full rebuilds
• Use of diagnostic laptops to fault trace and adjust operating parameters
• Hydraulics and PTO work on trucks and trailers
• Auto electrical and fabrication work
• Roadside assistance unit
• VicRoads roadworthy inspections
• Pre-delivery and support work for the PACCAR factory
• Help the team deliver in excess of 250 trucks!

Who you are:

• A qualified technician with experience working on on-highway trucks or aligned equipment such aspower gen / heavy plantequipment will also be considered
• A reliable and punctual team player with a good attitude and willingness to develop your knowledge and expertise
• A "can do"/ motivated team player
• Ideally youhave a current HR/HC drivers’ licencepreferred but not essential
• Previous training on Cummins and experience with American or European engines and drivelines will be highly regarded
