Job summary

Bengalla Mining Company in the Hunter Valley seeks a skilled Technical Training Officer to join the Human Resources and Training team. The role develops and updates maintenance, CHPP and support staff training and implements Paperless Training via Ideagen Forms.

You will design, implement and monitor training materials, maintain LMS integrity, and collaborate with subject matter experts to drive safety and competency across the operation. This role is day shift Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Certificate IV Training and Assessment.
• Trade or engineering qualifications.

• Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and standards for competency-based training.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Training Coordinator, we are seeking a skilled Technical Training Officer to join the Human Resources and Training team. The team is a multi-discipline team that is responsible for providing direct support to all areas of the business to ensure the safe operation of people, plant and equipment.

The successful candidate is required to develop and update all Maintenance, CHPP and Support staff site-based training and assessment materials. This role is also responsible for the site implementation of Paperless Training via Ideagen Forms.

Working a day shift Monday to Friday roster you will be responsible for:

• Development and updating of training and assessment materials;
• Development and updating of Ideagen learning E-lessons;
• Ensure all training documents are version controlled;
• Design, develop, implement and monitor Paperless Training via Ideagen Forms;
• Maintain positive working relationships with Ideagen Learning system stakeholders;
• Maintain positive working relationships with competent subject matter experts;
• Conduct gap analysis with appropriate stakeholders to identify training requirements for the Maintenance Technical Training Program (i.e. technical skills improvement plan);
• Reconcile training records against Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and business needs (e.g. Department reporting)
• Attend and contribute training related improvements to site critical risk consultative groups
• Ideagen (Learning Management System) system improvements (e.g. identifying issues and errors in LMS system and raising tickets to resolve);
• Troubleshooting and general maintenance of Ideagen hardware and accounts;

Qualifications And Experience

The desired candidate will have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Certificate IV Training and Assessment;
• Trade/Engineering qualifications;
• Demonstrated commitment to safety improvement and safe behaviours;
• Demonstrated understanding of relevant legislation, policies, procedures and national standards for competency based training;
• The ability to work with people at all levels;
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills;
• Strong system skills and computer literacy;
• The ability to work both independently and part of a team;
• Excellent communication skills;
• High level understanding of an Open Cut Coal Mine and preferably Coal Handling Plant;
• Strong training systems software knowledge (e.g. Ideagen Workforce Safety System)
