Job summary

Aurizon is seeking a Technical Trainer in Dry Creek, South Australia, to coach, mentor and assess trainee locomotive drivers, leveraging operational experience to build a safer, more capable rail workforce.

The role delivers and assesses competency-based training, supports learners throughout their journey, and collaborates with leaders to identify training needs while developing materials and driving safety and excellence.

Qualifications

• Qualified Locomotive Driver with rail operation experience.
• Strong operational rail knowledge and a commitment to safety.
• A passion for developing and mentoring others.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent), or a willingness to obtain the qualification with Aurizon support.
• Relevant train driving qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver training and competency-based assessments for trainee locomotive drivers.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to support learner development and performance.
• Work with operational leaders to identify capability needs and training opportunities.
• Support the development and continuous improvement of training materials and programs.
• Promote safe work practices and operational excellence across the business.
